Dr. Pardeep Singh (born 1985, Hoshiarpur, Punjab) is a modern contemporary artist whose practice is deeply rooted in an emotional and intuitive relationship with nature. Recognized among notable contemporary artists in Chandigarh, his work is known for abstract landscapes that balance sensory depth with visual accessibility.
From an early age, Pardeep was drawn to art, a journey that led him to Santiniketan, one of India’s most important art centers. He spent nearly a decade there, completing his Bachelor of Fine Arts and Postgraduate studies at Kalabhavana, Visva-Bharati University. He later earned a Doctorate in Fine Arts (Painting) from Utkal University of Culture, Odisha, strengthening his academic and conceptual grounding in contemporary art.
Pardeep Singh’s artistic journey spans across India and internationally. His paintings have been presented in numerous national and international exhibitions, including prominent art exhibitions in Chandigarh, and have been widely featured in respected art publications. His works have found a place in several prestigious art collections in Chandigarh, as well as in private collections across India and abroad, reflecting his growing relevance in the modern contemporary art scene.
Beyond exhibitions, he has actively contributed to the art community by organizing and participating in national and international workshops and seminars. These engagements position him as an important voice among contemporary artists in Chandigarh, contributing both through practice and dialogue.
At the core of Pardeep’s work is a deep emotional connection with nature. He describes his approach as “digestible abstract”, abstract compositions that still evoke a recognizable sense of place. Rather than depicting literal landscapes, he translates the atmosphere, energy, and memory of real locations into layered visual experiences. For him, nature is something to be fully lived and absorbed, allowing instinct and subconscious emotion to guide the painting process.
Working predominantly on large canvases, Pardeep allows feelings and lived experiences to direct each brushstroke.
