Sujit Karmakar (born February 6, 1982, Kolkata) is a celebrated Indian modern contemporary artist known for his vibrant Pop Art-influenced paintings that capture the rhythm, movement, and emotional pulse of urban life. Karmakar earned his Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) from the College of Visual Arts, Khairagarh University in 2005. His artistic approach is deeply shaped by his philosophy of life as a continuous cycle—much like a wheel in constant motion. This belief strongly informs his visual language, where change, renewal, and resilience are recurring themes. Additionally, he has participated in numerous group exhibitions and prominent art exhibitions in Chandigarh, as well as at leading institutions such as the Academy of Fine Arts, Rajya Charukala Parishad, and Birla Academy.
His works have also been showcased at major art fairs and exhibitions in cities including Mumbai, Delhi, and Bangalore, along with international platforms such as Dubai. These exhibitions have contributed to the inclusion of his works in significant private and institutional art collections in Chandigarh and beyond.
