Mother & Child II

Size: 30 X 40 inches
Medium: Serigraph on paper

This serigraph depicts a tender moment between mother and child rendered in Thota Vaikuntam’s signature style celebrating Telugu rural culture. The artist employs bold blocks of cobalt blue and sunshine yellow against olive-green skin tones, with intricate jewelry and costume details that honor traditional adornment. The child’s prayerful gesture and the mother’s protective presence create an intimate devotional tableau, marked by simplified forms and rhythmic linear patterns characteristic of folk art sensibilities.
