Born in Allahabad in 1977, Yati Jaiswal is a contemporary painter who lives and works in Delhi. He completed his early training in Delhi, earning a bachelor’s degree from the College of Art before obtaining a master’s degree in visual arts from Dr. B.R. Ambedkar University in Agra. He also holds a postgraduate diploma in human rights from Jamia Millia Islamia.
Yati describes his paintings as concentrated reflections of his life events, societal occurrences, and fragments of dreams. His unique visual language strongly echoes surrealism, presenting viewers with an uncommon blend of ideas. He uses these elements to construct a parallel universe filled with visual metaphors. Through this alternate canvas world, the artist expresses his personal ambitions and letdowns, finding a creative space to explore what cannot be done in daily life.
His professional path includes significant milestones, such as a National Award from the Lalit Kala Academy and the Kashi Award for Visual Art, both won in 2008. He has displayed his work in solo exhibitions, including his "PHLEGM" show in New Delhi, and has joined multiple group exhibitions across India in locations like Mohali, Bangalore, and Kochi over the last two decades.
