V Ramakrishna is an accomplished contemporary artist based in Hyderabad who explores how globalization and rapid technological growth neutralize unique urban identities. Having earned his Master of Fine Arts from JNAFAU and a Bachelor's degree from Potti Sri Ramulu Telugu University, he captures the shared appearance of modern cityscapes. Instead of focusing solely on lost heritage, he views his environment from the perspective of an insider, highlighting a sense of unity and collective harmony among city residents who live within these dense, structured spaces.
His distinctive canvases feature complex arrangements of tiny geometric patterns and intersecting lines that interlock like pieces of a jigsaw puzzle. This continuous line work draws direct inspiration from traditional Indian miniature paintings. He divides his compositions into countless closely packed rectangular sections using a rich, lively color palette. These textured spaces often include recurring visual motifs, such as horizontal apartment balconies, rows of inhabitants, vertical staircases, and tiny embedded portraits.
His artistic contributions have earned him widespread acclaim, including a Silver Medal and an official award from the Hyderabad Art Society. Globally recognized, his work has been featured at major international platforms, including the Affordable Art Fair in Singapore, World Art Dubai, and Art Revolution Taipei.
