About Sachin Sagare
Sachin Sagare is an Indian artist born on May 12, 1981, in Pandharpur, a small village in the Solapur district of Maharashtra. His artwork primarily focuses on the beauty, strength, and resilience of rural Indian women. Growing up in a rural setting, Sagare was deeply influenced by the hardworking women around him. This inspiration is evident in his paintings, which celebrate their enduring spirit and essential role in village life.
Sagare’s journey as an artist began with a Diploma in Drawing and Painting from the Dalvis Art Institute in Kolhapur in 2001. He continued his studies in Pune, where he earned a Diploma in Applied Arts from the Abhinav Chitrakala Mahavidyalaya in 2004. In 2005, he moved to Mumbai to pursue his art career and worked in the film industry as a storyboarding artist and assistant director. Although he learned a lot during this time, he realized his true passion was painting. In 2011, he decided to leave the film industry to focus on his art full-time.
Sagare believes that women are the most magnificent creations of God. He is drawn to depicting them in simple, straightforward ways that contrast with their inner strength and potential. To him, nothing is more captivating than a village woman. His paintings aim to capture their inner beauty and charm, reflecting his deep admiration and respect for them.
His artworks often feature women in vibrant, colorful saris and blouses that represent the raw colors of the earth, such as reds, golden yellows, oranges, dark blues, and greens. These colors help to portray the natural beauty and vitality of rural life.
