Born in Nagpur, Nishant Dange graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Government of Chitrakala Mahavidyalay in 2004, earning top marks and a gold medal. He later received the Bombay Art Society Award in 2007.
Dange creates moody, atmospheric art using a mix of charcoal, watercolor, and acrylic. His paintings feature elegant, otherworldly women lost in deep thought, showcasing the strength and beauty of women. He decorates these pieces with detailed drawings of birds and butterflies. To him, the butterfly symbolizes a woman's power to change and rebuild.
His unique style combines a lifelike, photographic quality with simple drama. He uses deep black charcoal to create a strong contrast against bright colors, making his artwork feel both peaceful and powerful.
