Deeply connected to his countryside roots, Mohan Singh Shyam draws creative inspiration from his childhood in Patangarh. His artwork predominantly highlights the various birds and animals he closely observed during his youth.
His artistic path began at the tender age of five when he first painted the walls of his family home alongside his mother, Raja Bai. Recognizing his early talent, his father, Jagat Ram, consistently motivated him to assist her with traditional paintings during festive celebrations.
Over the years, Shyam has displayed his creations across numerous Indian regions, including Delhi, Punjab, Bhopal, Ujjain, Nasik, Khajuraho, Raipur, and Amarkantak. Notably, in 2004, he participated in the West Holland Animation Film Workshop held in Bhopal. Currently, he earns a living as a daily wage worker at the IGRMS Museum, where one of the exhibition walls proudly showcases his designs alongside fellow creators.
