Mother & Child I

Size: 30 X 40 inches
Medium: Serigraph on paper

This work exemplifies Vaikuntam’s signature style celebrating rural Telangana life through bold, simplified forms and a vibrant color palette dominated by ochre, purple, red, and white. The intimate maternal bond is rendered with geometric precision and decorative patterning, particularly evident in the traditional jewelry and clothing details. The composition’s flattened perspective and strong contours create a powerful graphic quality that bridges folk tradition with modernist sensibility.
